Event Reports - Collective Model Contest

Farpoint 2007 Convention in Hunt Valley, MD - 2.16-18.07

Farpoint is a sci-fi fan-run convention held every February in the Baltimore MD area.
The Collective hosted a model contest at this annual convention with ribbons awarded.

This year's Farpoint convention was very quiet. The Valentine Day's blizzard a few day's earlier served to scare off many potential attendees. The main guests were also changed the month before the con. Die hard fans still showed up and had a great time. It was a relaxing convention.

There were two entries for the model contest. Many people that visited our tables expressed their regret at not bringing their models. Some were only spending one day at the con and others did not hear about the contest beforehand.

The Collective Dealer tables at our usual February location. We brought the Karemma starship for all to see. Many were eager to see it and take pictures. We also shared our knowledge from the Christie's experience - having been up close to all the Star Trek filming models.

Some guests at Farpoint included Ron Glass and Harve Bennett
