If you are curious about our group, and would like to learn more about us before joining, you are welcome, along with any of your friends and family that may be interested, to come to one of our events. All of our meetings and events are open to members and non-members alike. See for yourself who we are and what we do and ask us questions face-to-face. If you like what you see, we would be very happy to have you become part of the family.

MEMBERSHIP TYPES

The USS Adamant has the following membership types and dues structure:

  • Full STARFLEET Membership - ($20-individual/$25-family) - for members of STARFLEET officially assigned to the USS Adamant. Chapter dues include STARFLEET membership dues.
  • Affiliate Membership - ($12-individual/$15-family) - for members of STARFLEET officially assigned to other STARFLEET chapters, but also chosing to be members of the USS Adamant. STARFLEET membership dues not included.

Membership Period - Dues cover the calendar year, January to December, and are collected at the beginning of each year. Dues for new members joining mid-year will be prorated for the number of months remaining in that calendar year.

Family Memberships - Defined as individuals who share a residence or are related by blood or marriage. Family Memberships entitle each individual to all the rights and privileges of Individual Membership, except that only one copy of each issue of the chapter newsletter, The Threshold, and other chapter printed materials, will be provided.

You may change your membership type or cancel your membership at any time. However, once you have paid your membership dues, they are not refundable . All members are responsible to keep their membership dues current. This will be especially important in regards to voting privileges. If your dues are not current, you will not be able to vote on chapter issues.

MEMBERSHIP BENEFITS

When you join, or renew each year, you will receive the following membership materials:

  • Membership ID card & certificate - identifying you as a member of the USS Adamant.
  • The Threshold - our chapter newsletter with info on recent chapter and Trek events, news (local, regional, Fleet-wide), upcoming conventions etc.
  • Meeting Minutes - from our monthly meetings keeping you informed of what is going on in the chapter, the Region, the Fleet and the world of Trek.
  • Member Roster - contact information for all the members of the USS Adamant.
  • Chapter Handbook - includes our bylaws, policies, procedures and other important information on the chapter's operations.
  • Chapter Listserve - access to our closed Yahoogroups e-mail Listserve where you can exchange e-mails with many other members of the USS Adamant.

In addition, throughout the year you will have access to the latest information and news from the world of Star Trek, Sci-Fi and science fact.

The greatest benefit of membership can not be measured - it is the intangibles -- the friendships, good fun, great memories, opportunities and personal enrichment.

DEPARTMENTAL STRUCTURE

The USS Adamant is structured to emulate a starship, including having several departments that handle specific club activities. As a member of the USS Adamant, you can ask to be assigned to the department of your choosing. Please carefully review the department descriptions and chose the department that best suits your individual talents and interests. The department you choose will not limit in any way the club activities you may participate in. Members of one department are always free to participate in or help out with activities run by another department. You may also choose not to be assigned to any specific department.
